Salesforce agreed to acquire Rune Technologies, an AI startup that helps the U.S. military predict supply needs and manage logistics, for $375 million in cash and stock, according to Resilience Media. Rune was founded in 2024 and has raised $30 million total from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures, and IQT, a CIA-backed nonprofit venture firm. The startup was last valued at $127 million during a Series A led by Human Capital.

The deal strengthens Salesforce's Missionforce unit, which serves national security and defense agencies. Missionforce has grown 80% year over year since launching last year, fueled in part by a new 10-year, $5.6 billion contract with the U.S. Army. Rune's technology will let Missionforce extend beyond back-office administrative planning to support battlefield operations.

Salesforce has pursued multiple acquisitions this year. The company agreed to buy AI agent platform Fin, formerly Intercom, for $3.6 billion, acquired Qualified for $1.2 billion, and signed an agreement to buy Listen Labs after the startup declined a $125 million Series C term sheet at a $1.5 billion valuation.
